Attface Attendance

How do you activate and sync an Attface Attendance device?

A guide to activation codes, device assignment, employee sync and a first check-in test for Attface Attendance kiosks and Android or iOS phones.

Attface Attendance device management screen

An attendance device needs more than an installed app. It must be linked to the intended organization and workplace context, receive the people and configuration it needs, and send a test event that an administrator can find. This guide focuses on that device journey. For the wider setup order, including shifts and schedules, see the attendance launch checklist.

Prepare the assignment before generating a code

In the Attface Attendance administration guide, an administrator prepares the organization and workplace locations before activating a device. Decide whether it will be a shared kiosk at a location or an Android or iOS phone assigned to an employee. Check its name and assignment in the dashboard before giving the activation code to the installer. A code for the wrong location or person can make later attendance events difficult to interpret.

Keep the code within the setup process and use it while it is valid. The device activation interface has a code validity period; if a code is expired or rejected, create a fresh one in the dashboard rather than repeatedly entering an old value. Do not send device credentials or activation results into an ordinary chat message.

Activate on the device, then verify the result

Install and open the Attface Attendance app on the intended Android or iOS device. Enter the code shown in the dashboard and let the device complete activation. The documented flow binds it to a location or assigned employee and adds an authenticated device to the trusted device list. The administration screen is the place to confirm its name, type, status and assignment after activation.

If the device does not appear where expected, stop before enrolling faces or recording attendance. Check that the installer used the current code, that the intended device type and assignment were selected, and that the device can reach the service. A code can also be invalid or conflict with an existing assignment; review the dashboard result instead of assuming that an app screen alone proves success.

Sync employees and run a small end-to-end test

After activation, the app syncs employee data, recognition data and required configuration. For a shared kiosk, register a test employee's face using the employee code, then confirm the profile is ready for recognition. The Attface Attendance device guide describes both registration and subsequent employee sync. If a newly added employee is missing, check the employee record and sync status before asking them to retry a scan.

Finally, make one controlled check-in or check-out and find its event in the dashboard's full attendance log. Confirm the employee, timestamp, device and processing result. A successful scan on the device is only the first observation; the log shows whether the event reached the system. If the event is present but the shift report looks wrong, investigate the schedule separately rather than reactivating a healthy device.

Handover checklist

  1. Confirm the dashboard shows the correct device and location or employee assignment.
  2. Confirm employee and recognition data have synced to the device.
  3. Record a test event and find it in the full log with the expected device.
  4. Document who can lock or remove the device if it is lost or no longer trusted.

This short test gives the operations team a known working baseline before the device is used for a full shift.
